Yep, we’ve been at it again, this time we’re welcoming the delightful Kara Thurkettle to the team as a Marketing Executive.
Kara joined the team in February boasting a wealth of experience in managing and strategising teams specifically for events, marketing projects, public relations and lobbying campaigns for non-profit organisations, spanning over just 8 years, and has some impressive achievements under her belt:
“One of my largest events that I put together myself in under two months included the first “Condom Fashion Show” at Western Michigan University for Sexual Health Awareness.”
After moving to the UK from America in 2016, Kara has since graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA (Hons) in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology and joined us from her previous role at Sanctuary Personnel, EADT‘s Large Business of the Year, as well as marrying her British sweetheart.
A little more about Kara…
“I studied biomedical science for two years before switching over to the dark side. My husband and I are massive DC and Marvel comic fans and if you saw our collection of memorabilia you would probably say we have an addiction.” Kara loves a good boogie in her spare time and is an avid fan of a Netflix binge, you know, all the good stuff – Stranger Things, Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones (No spoilers please Kara).
It’s safe to say that we expect Kara will settle into the team rather well, as we’ll have an awful lot to talk about when it comes to DC Vs Marvel – though we all know the right answer.
When asked why she chose StrategiQ, Kara gave us her thoughts:
“When I interviewed with the MD Andy, he spoke very passionately about his staff and clients and his desire to help them both achieve their goals. I want to make a difference and be supported in my career path and I strongly believe StrategiQ will lead me in the right direction. The company has amazing leadership, brilliant staff and the motivation to exceed excellence and I am so overjoyed to be invited to join the team.”
