It’s the final few weeks of the year and we’re thrilled to announce our last new starter of 2023! Allow us to introduce you to our sparkly new Marketing Executive, Olivia Phillips.
So Liv, tell us a little bit about your background.
My journey into the professional world of marketing has been a few years in the making. I studied Journalism at the University of Sheffield. It highlighted my passion for everything people-oriented whilst nurturing my creative interests and so I decided to hone these skills further and pursue a CIM accredited Masters in International Management and Marketing.
Juggling the writing of my MSc dissertation with full-time work, I started work in Higher Education marketing and recruitment, building account relations with schools around the country and talking all things university, careers and the student experience. I learned a tonne: I got comfortable speaking publicly, ran focus groups, gathered consumer insights, implemented campaign strategies and learned that being able to film and edit always comes in handy!
After a fun 18 months, I was more convinced than ever that marketing was the environment for me, however, I knew I wanted to go and explore the world first. After a few awesome months travelling Asia and New Zealand, I moved back to sunny Suffolk and am now super keen to sink my teeth into everything StrategiQ!
So why StrategiQ?
I came to StrategiQ to be surrounded by talented individuals within a dynamic, ambitious environment where I can channel my abilities and learn from the best. I am most excited about ideating and implementing meaningful and creative strategies for clients while gaining experience and knowledge from experts across the whole business.
We’re interested to know… what’s your mission statement?
“To develop optimal solutions for both clients and StrategiQ, always embracing challenges with creativity and positivity. My goal is to have fun wherever possible and enjoy a balanced life, finding success and happiness in both work and personal pursuits.”
What’s your career highlight?
My career highlight so far is being nominated for a national journalism award as Chief Editor for The Fulwood Post online newspaper whilst at university.
Lastly, tell us, what are your passions outside of work?
I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie and game for almost anything – bungee jumping, skydiving, skiing, I’m there! This is definitely a part of my sporty and competitive side. I’m also a huge animal lover so talk to me about your pets, bonus points if they have human names – I have Reggie the horse and Bridget the dog.
