6 min read by Laura Manning 21 Aug 2023

As we strengthen the delivery of our ‘One Team. One Agency, One Strategy’ integrated approach, it is super important that we provide our team with the systems, tools and processes they need to succeed. To do just that, we’re excited to welcome a new face to our business support team…

Lucy Edwards joins us in the role of Office Manager, supporting the team by managing the day-to-day running of the Ipswich office, greeting our wonderful clients and providing personal assistance to our CEO and leadership team.

Experienced in human resources and office management, Lucy has a passion for organisation and administrational duties. Find out why we have a case of puppy love for our recent recruit…

So, Lucy, tell us a little bit about your background

My background is actually Human Resources – a world away from Marketing. I went straight into HR from college at the age of 17, completing my CIPD Level 3 by the age of 19.

I gained invaluable experience in recruitment, learning and development, project management and general administration before deciding to try something new.

With a newly sparked interest in childhood education (inspired by my lovely younger brother), I attended Anglia Ruskin University to become a qualified Early Years Teacher and gained my Master’s Degree whilst working on the job.

Safe to say, this role is not for the light-hearted – so after a few years of being kicked and bitten every day, I decided to come back to something a little more rewarding and fulfilling.

What’s been your top career highlight so far?

As part of my initial HR role at a fresh produce company, I introduced and delivered a programme called the ‘Seed to Success’ which impacted team members spanning three locations. Due to the incredible impact this had, I was invited to speak at a conference delivered by Marks & Spencer – they also classed it as an award-winning project, which was exceptionally rewarding for me to have been exposed to so early in my career!

What made you want to come to StrategiQ?

Being from Suffolk, I have always been aware of StrategiQ – it projects a positive and attractive employee culture and I wanted to work for and contribute my efforts to a company that values its team at such a high level.

What’s something you’d say you’re exceptionally good at?

The care, detail, time and skill each team member puts into their discipline and understanding of the needs of their clients is unrivalled to any business I have worked in before. It’s great to contribute to areas such as our OS dashboards and know that it will make a real difference to our project outcomes.

I can already tell from the buzz within the offices, the pace of agency life will never leave me bored and two days will never look the same. It’s exciting to be a part of the action!

Moving away from all the business talk – tell us what a perfect day off would look like to you!

I enjoy an active lifestyle and I am dog OBSESSED with two crazy Spaniels and a beautiful Lab at home. My perfect day would revolve around them with a long walk along the coast, a G&T, and fish and chips to top it off!

What’s the best way to approach you?

I’m very friendly and sociable too, so come and have a chat with me anytime!

As I’m motivated by supporting others, I thrive when people come with a purpose and connect best with those who are open, honest and generally have chill vibes!
