Introducing our June MVP!

7 min read by Lauren Grubb 5 Jul 2024

It’s officially July, we’re halfway through the year and the weather hasn’t improved since we wrote our last MVP blog. But in better news, it’s time to announce our June MVP and it’s a gooden!

MVP is a chance for our team to vote every month for that one person that they think has gone above and beyond for our clients, team and agency. With the reward of a day off and dinner out on the company, MVP has been instilled in our culture since day one.

As our CPO, Sarah Smith, stated once again we have had a loverrly spread of nominations this month, so let’s get into it and reveal our top 3!

Our third place this month with 4 votes goes to our brilliant Head of Paid, Dale Olorenshaw! Known for his positivity, leadership skills, and most importantly his hilarious sense of humour, Dale has been leading his team to victory this month.

“Man. Myth. Legend. Dale Olorenshaw. What a month. Mega impressed with Dale’s ownership of the [client] account. He has put in an insane shift ensuring the stakeholders are managed and kept happy all whilst evolving the accounts and prepping them for actual optimisation. All this whilst ensuring his team is succeeding. Keep it up mate.”

“Since joining StrategiQ and getting to know Dale more, I can see that he is the person I’ve turned to when I’ve needed help prioritising, support, or guidance – he is always helping me and the team with responding to or handling any curve balls or queries. He’s so solutions-focused and a very calm, positive and ambitious person to work with. Over time, I’m seeing more and more of his personality, wicked sense of humour and my favourite thing – how much he loves Nala ha ha. The Paid & Search team here is strong and I know it comes down to his great leadership #MVP.”

It’s fabulous to see a newcomer join the team and smash it out of the park instantly and this is just what our second-place MVP has done this month. Nick Wells has brought energy, creative thinking and patience to the agency in his first few months and it has been noticed across the whole of the agency.

“Nick has only been with us a short amount of time but his level of thinking is seriously impressive. Not only that but he is proving to be a very supportive colleague with a huge amount of patience – even helping me outside of hours to nail a strategy and explain how to present information better in a cohesive and engaging way. Nothing is too much trouble for this guy and I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with this genius.”

“Is this a record for the earliest MVP nomination to go to a new starter?! As soon as I interviewed Nick, I felt like he’d be a brilliant fit for the team, and it’s been so lovely to see that come to fruition even beyond expectations. Nick has jumped straight in with some brilliant campaign ideas for Bristow and StrategiQ marketing, drove out of his way to go on a recce to help with the Shakespeare pitch whilst on his annual leave, and has been a real joy of a partner to live tweet the Euros games with for Hughes out of hours at the weekend and evenings. Talk about going above and beyond, thank you for the energy and thinking you’ve brought so far Nick – excited to see where we go from here.”

After coming so close in the past two months, it’s finally her time! She has gone from strength to strength and her dedication, expertise and drive have been noted by every single person in the agency. Upsells, training team members, renewals and so much more, she is a force to be reckoned with, so without further ado a huge congratulations to our winner, Emily Berriman AKA “Email Berriman”.

“Runner up two months in a row and this month keeps going. When you’re developing your skills and career, it’s easy to constantly check with people and shy away from decisions and accountability through fear of making a mistake…..this month I’ve seen Email do everything but this and it’s really impressing me. The MVP justification this month for me though was the way she handled the JML renewal. She owned the deck, renewal strategy and meeting. What I loved most is despite being scared inside, she leant into it and did it anyway. She’s supporting the team daily and despite the odd sigh in the morning, she looks like she’s enjoying the progress she’s making. Well Done Email”

“This month my nomination goes to Emily, she has been firing upsells left right and centre while still going above and beyond each day! She truly deserves a duvet day!!”

“Off the back of her near miss last month, surely this is Emily’s month! For sure, Emily’s confidence and skillset have grown significantly in Lauren’s absence. She’s managed to secure the renewal for JML, launch a world-class competition for FDF and continues to provide a brilliant service to the likes of Stylus and Body Talk. I have loved seeing your maturity grow over the last few weeks. You should be immensely proud of the step up you are taking.”

Well done Emily, it is truly deserved – we hope you have a good day off and a dinner out on the company!
