It’s all about the tech teams, the coders and the designers as we celebrate picking up Third Sector Website Of the Year and UX Award at the UK showcase of all things digital.
It’s sore but happy heads all-round today as the StrategiQ team celebrate scooping two wins at the UK Dev Awards.
The awards are a huge, 25 category celebration of the teams that communicate digitally to grow businesses; rewarding the work they do across websites, apps, CMS systems, coding and design.
This year, we entered five categories and were delighted to be named finalists in all of them.
But first… to the wins!
Third Sector Website of the Year
StrategiQ & Hey Girls – a user journey in the fight against period poverty
Our award for Third Sector Website of the Year featured our website showcase with Hey Girls, an award-winning ‘buy-one, give-one’ period product social enterprise, set up by Celia Hodson and her two daughters in response to experiencing period poverty themselves.
What we did
Our brief was to design and build a new ecommerce website to support their buy-one, give-one period product initiative, with ambitious targets to generate income through the conversion of inbound B2B and B2C customer enquiries, as well as increase newsletter sign-ups, collect donations and make product sales.
Why we won… what the judges said
Feedback from Hey Girls
“The fight against period poverty is one where we need all the support we can get – and the website StrategiQ has built us is the first place people go when they want to join our fight.
The website has helped further strengthen our online presence and raise awareness of the extent of period poverty here in the UK, while providing valuable information and support to those in need.
Something that, on the face of it, seems so simple can help change lives. We are very thankful to their team for their support and expertise in building our website.”
Celia Hodson, Founder & CEO from Hey Girls
What it means to us
“While all our award wins are important to us, it’s hugely rewarding to be honoured for work that helps to strive for good.
It was incredibly rewarding last night to see our team’s hard work and creativity rewarded by the judges. This is our third consecutive year entering the UK Dev Awards – and our first in-person ceremony due to COVID forcing the ceremony to a live stream.
Our work with Hey Girls was shortlisted against some fantastic agencies and clients, so it’s a delight to receive the recognition for such an impactful category – Best Third Sector Website.”
James Bavington, Chief Experience Officer
UX (User Experience) Award
The hardest sale is to sell yourself, so we made it easy through a seamless user experience and a rebrand that packs a punch. The StrategiQ website was a depiction of our maturation, our next phase of growth and the incredible people that make our agency special. All we had to do was bring it to life. Over to the development and design team!
Why we won… what the judges said
What this win means to us
“We built a new company website to coincide with the launch of our new brand. Its purpose was to position StrategiQ as a destination agency, showcase our work, the team, and our value to clients.
It was conceived, designed and built to some pretty punchy timescales so was no means an easy project just because it was one of our own. Credit goes to all the team for creating a site to be proud of, in particular to Dan Long, for putting his heart and soul into it.”
Tom Wake, Development Director
Finalists in three other categories
In addition to this, we’re proud to have been finalists on the night in three other categories:
- B2C Website of the Year – StrategiQ & Suffolk Building Society – a brand migration you can take to the bank
A complete rebrand of the formerly known ‘Ipswich Building Society’ into a new WordPress multisite complete with self-serving CMS and autonomous calculators and banking product database.
- Project of the Year – StrategiQ & Yoga Ed – Namaste new customer experience
Full build following new brand rollout for a fun and engaging elearning platform, featuring a complex integration with Thinkific.
- Employer of the Year – Large – StrategiQ – Development is just the start
What does it mean to be an incredible employer in an integrated agency? It means delivering structure, support and facilitating personal and professional development in every member of your team to enable them to deliver against the agency’s growth objectives.
Dev-initely worth shouting about
Considering the calibre of talent among the shortlisters this year, we don’t take our win/wins lightly. We’re proud to sit toe-to-toe with the other people shaping the digital landscape and raising the standards in user experience. Together, we’re paving the way in technological innovation, and the recognition in this industry means so much to our team.
The StrategiQ Dev team are a dedicated bunch; often quieter than other teams but seriously immersed and engrossed in their profession. They are integral to our clients’ success, our agency’s reputation and, most importantly, they’re an incredibly nice bunch of people who are always on hand to solve problems and innovate.
An award-winning streak
Yesterday’s success follows our most impressively awarded year to date, with teams from across the agency scooping up multiple national awards for search and paid media, alongside our well-deserved, newly-recognised status on the Drum Digital Agency Elite list. In fact, we’re going to need a bigger trophy cabinet as with each award win comes a new challenge to ourselves to carry out even bigger and better work.
Thank you, Don’t Panic
Our final words of thanks go to the organisers, Don’t Panic, who put on a fantastic show, complete with live music and great food all in the glamorous surroundings of the Montcalm Hotel, London. And it doesn’t stop there, as the awards season continues apace – we’re looking forward to seeing how we get on at the Paid Media Awards on 21st March, where we’re finalists in five categories.
