As a team, we have been fortunate to scoop a number of accolades lately, but it’s always nice to see individual members of the team being nominated for awards. We’re delighted to announce that four members of our team have been nominated for individual awards this year, but also that Senior Search Consultant Hannah Rampton and Designer Becky Evison have been listed as finalists in 2018’s DevelopHER Awards!
DevelopHER Awards: Impact & Importance
Established in 2015 by Vickie Allen, founder of SyncDevelopHER, the DevelopHER Awards highlight the accomplishments of women in the digital technology industry, increasing awareness of the impact they are making to inspire the next generation of young women.
“I think it’s great to provide a platform to acknowledge women within the digital sector. Overall, it’s still weighted towards being a more male-dominated industry; however, there are more women entering this profession than ever before. Raising awareness of this through the DevelopHER awards is a fitting way to encourage new and emerging talent to pursue a rewarding career in this industry.” Becky Evison, Designer
However, awards like these aren’t just good for women; they are good for everyone. Research by Next Generation has shown that there is a shortfall of 40,000 STEM-skilled workers in the UK each year, causing 39% of employers to have difficulty recruiting. However, if there was an equal amount of men and women pursuing careers in these fields, this percentage would be greatly reduced.
Success at StrategiQ
Whilst Hannah and Becky’s unique skill sets have contributed to improving our processes, delivering great projects and building our brand through thought leadership, their nominations undoubtedly reflect the fact that they consistently go above and beyond to ensure we always deliver to a high standard and uphold our company values.
Becky: Devine Design
Becky has been at StrategiQ for over two years, designing websites, conducting UX experiments and assisting with corporate branding. Her creativity and knowledge of the online customer experience ensure that we aren’t just designing websites – we are creating websites that evoke emotion, convert and retain customers. This year alone, Becky’s web design work helped us make the shortlists for the Masters of Marketing Awards and UK Search Awards. Now, she has been shortlisted for the 2018 DevelopHER Award’s Eye for Design Award.
“I was so thrilled to be nominated, let alone shortlisted. It’s a real celebration of the hard work and care I put in to achieve success in all aspects of my work. Since joining StrategiQ, with each project I’m involved in, there is hunger and determination to not just meet the client’s expectations and needs, but go beyond them. Seeing your work have a positive impact and being an integral part of a project that transforms a business gives me such pride.” – Becky Evison
Hannah: Search Success
With her highly technical skill set and attention to detail, Hannah has helped us streamline our technical SEO processes including our web project build and launch standards. She has also built useful tools and helped us upskill and train various members of the team.
With over ten years’ experience in the industry, Hannah has quite a track record of success. In 2008, she presented to the judging panel for the Growth Strategy of the Year award at the National Business Awards, and made the shortlist! She was also featured as one of ’95 Women Who Influenced the SEO Industry’ as part of a round-up by Serped and was named a finalist in a blog award by Level343 for ‘Top SEO Female 2012’. Now, she has been shortlisted for the 2018 DevelopHER Award’s Digital Marketer award.
“I never imagined that I would ever experience an awards ceremony in a personal setting. It was unexpected and still sinking in, but I’m honoured to be shortlisted!” – Hannah Rampton
