Six members of the StrategiQ team took part in Inspire Suffolk’s annual golf day on 10th June, sponsored by our client and good friends at Hemisphere Freight Services.
Held for the second year running at Seckford Golf Club, this year’s event raised over £2,000 for Inspire Suffolk, which forges bright futures for young people across Suffolk and north Essex. The charity offers personal development programmes, motivational education courses and engaging sport activities, equipping young people with the skills and confidence to overcome challenges and make their way back into employment or further training.
With youth unemployment on the rise across the UK, the Inspire Suffolk team has made a huge difference to young people in need of its support during the Covid-19 pandemic, most notably through its wellbeing service. In light of its success, Inspire Suffolk has been able to expand this service into Essex from August 2020.
On to the golf…
With various prizes up for grabs throughout the day, one of StrategiQ’s teams was pipped to the post by the team at Ipswich Central. Both teams scored an impressive 119 points, with Ipswich Central declared winners on countback having scored the most points on the back nine. There’s always next year…!
Other contests included ‘Beat the Pro’ at the 11th hole and the ‘Impossible Putt’, which was won for the second year running by StrategiQ’s very own Adam Pescod (who also happens to be the author of this blog). There were further donations for the Prize Draw, including a luxury hamper, Italian chocolates, his and hers toiletries, and bottles of red wine and Prosecco.
However, the real winners were Inspire Suffolk and the young people it works with. We are delighted to have played a small part in supporting the charity, and look forward to teeing up again next year.
