We’re welcoming yet another new face to the StrategiQ collective today. We’ve seen this face before – many years ago, when StrategiQ was just a wee dream. Our latest new member of the StrategiQ fam is none other than Senior Designer, Ian Dance!
We’ll waste no time finding out a bit more about Ian…
Ian’s background started in print design, brand creation and brand development, and he spent his first few years working within marketing and advertising agencies to help produce advertising campaigns for the likes of BT, Go Ape and National Express. He then moved freelance, and collaborated with a huge range of agencies across Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire and helped provide design solutions for the likes of Accenture, Shell, Berkeley Homes and Crest Nicholson.
After spending 7 years freelancing with design agencies, Ian spread his expertise into the digital side of things, and began crafting designs for websites and online advertising, and has spent the last 7 years of his now over 20-year career focussed on UX/UI and web design agency work. It was at this point in his life where we encountered Ian’s skills once before – he is responsible for our glorious Q and helped Andy to shape the company’s brand into what later became an award-winning agency based on both culture and performance.
Enough about us, what does Ian do for fun?
Ian is a film buff, and loves his design (duh) and photography. Thanks to his desire to be forever designing, he also ran a voluntary youth magazine for 7 years, called IP1 which was set up to help young writers, designers, photographers and illustrators get their work published and provide valuable training and experience on how the industry works. This project also allowed the volunteers to build a portfolio of work that could be used to gain employment within their chosen field. That, sir, is cool.
Aside from designing, He’s also a big music lover, and also apparently likes to be sad as he’s a huge ITFC fan. Ian also loves to collect trainers and hats, so you’ll never see him looking anything other than pretty fly.
But why did he Join us after all this time?
“My reason for joining StrategiQ was simple, I admired the ambition the company has and had heard great things about the way they work and the opportunities they were involved in. There are still lots of things I want to achieve and felt that StrategiQ was a great fit to learn and progress and have fun at the same time. I was involved with StrategiQ at its birth as I worked with Andy to design the company identity when working freelance and felt it was now time to experience what the company had become for myself.”
Welcome, Ian, Great to have you back!
