Every Monday, the StrategiQ Team make their picks as to their top 5 favourite websites of the week.
And the winners are…
1. Feeling the Street
The winner of this week’s Web Top 5 is the Feeling the Street website. Whilst the site benefits from a clever design, it is the concept that really wins the day for Feeling the Street. Bringing together some of the world’s best street artists, the site actively invites its visitors to build the best street band in the world, and gives the artist the exposure that they would otherwise not receive. Such an array of talent is on display, so this site is an excellent time waster.
2. The St. Louis Browns
The second site in the Web Top 5 this week, is the St Louis Browns historical society website. Strong imagery and graphics define this site, which has an excellent method of storytelling through its parallax scrolling functionality. A real sense of history is present throughout the website, with an excellent distribution of fonts and colour throughout that really capture the passion surrounding this bygone baseball team.
3. The White Frontier
Hold your breath when watching the video on this website’s homepage, it really is heart stopping. This site is an excellent example of the importance of video in creating a compelling website experience. Delving further into the site also reveals some great imagery that alludes to the quality of this brewery’s product range.
4. Bellroy
The Bellroy website is a welcome addition to this week’s Web Top 5, bringing clever functionality to the table including a slider lead animation and some fantastic informational pieces on the homepage. The website’s strong branding throughout also helps to grant the product a greater sense of prestige to the products.
5. Get Rest
The Get Rest website is a well designed site, characterised by its linear layout, muted colour palette and professional imagery. The site’s simplicity is an excellent example of how good design is the starting point for a great website.
