Every Monday, the StrategiQ Team make their picks as to their top 5 favourite websites of the week.
And the winners are…
1. The Bar
The winner of this week’s Web Top 5 is The Bar. This colourful and enjoyable cocktail site works as a really great example of a instructional website, with much of the site being populated by recipe and easy to follow videos, showcased perfectly by the site’s perfectly constructed layout. The list of cocktails available look to cater for all levels of expertise with a filter for the spirits and mixers available, as well as a difficulty level attached so you pick what suits you. Now, where’s Tom Cruise to make it for me.
2. Trek Bikes
The second website in this week’s Web Top 5 is a site built for a specific audience. Selling the adventure of cycling, Trek Bikes foregrounds stunning landscape photography, being confident in the experience that it is selling. A clear user journey and excellent tab experience on the individual bike page is built for pro bikers, so you can look in depth at the engineering specs discussing weight, dimensions and materials. With a superb shopping experience on tap, this is a website that really meets their target audience.
3. Heinz Baby
Third in this week’s Web Top 5 is the Heinz Baby site. The strap line of the site is ‘Welcome to a World of Goodness’ and we couldn’t agree more. Stacked full of useful dietary information for parents like scrummy recipes, early weaning and clear product breakdowns including videos, this site is a parents dream. Its clear, playful typography and illustrations will no doubt delight them and give them confidence in Heinz products.
4. This is MOD
The fourth site on the list this week belongs to a microsite from This is Ground. A muted colour pallet and simple user journey are key to the microsite’s wonderful elegance, whilst the photography really works to emphasise the product itself. A high end product with a site to match.
5. Nordica
The fifth and final site in the Web Top 5 is Ski Boots site, Nordica. The key to the site’s success is its content heavy interface with a wide selection of videos available. The dealer locator is also an enjoyable addition to the site, with a clever map function typifying and underlying the site’s success. This is a really nice website which excellently rounds of the Web Top 5.
