Every Monday, the StrategiQ Team make their picks as to their top 5 favourite websites of the week.
And the winners are…
5. NBA
There are definitely more aesthetically pleasing sites on the web, but in terms of user friendly content, there are few as gratifying as the official NBA (National Basketball Association) website. Simply from a sports fans point of view, it is seldom that one finds a site with such a fan-focused approach to content. This includes full highlights of every NBA game and an overabundance of quality blog’s from league insiders. A real fan’s treasure chest.
4. Nike Women
In fourth place, the StrategiQ team are all big fans of the design of the Nike women page. Large images fill the page, but it is the space in between the imagery that is the key to this sites aesthetically pleasing appeal, creating an undeniable elegance that beautifully complements the bright apparel that the NIKE brand has become known for. Roll over social sharing links are a nice finishing touch to the site, enticing Nike’s social fan base.
3. Aether Cone
Moving into the top three, the StrategiQ team have chosen the Aether Cone website. A product as impressive as this evidently needs an equally impressive website to match it’s ambition. Whilst the website is subtle in design and makes excellent use of some exquisite photography throughout, it is the dynamic use of interactivity that catapults the site to the next level.
2. Victoria Beckham Land Rover
Sometimes it is the quality of the imagery that really brings a website to life. Our number two pick is a fine display of how quality photography can really lend life to a webpage when presented to a high quality. In this case, the dynamic parallax that the site boasts really enhances the imagery. One key to understanding web design is that people seldom notice fantastic imagery, however a bad image will stand out like a sore thumb.
1. Suntory Whisky
Our number one pick is a real masterclass in web design. Dynamic and captivating, the site perfectly holds our attention by building our anticipation with an expert fusion of imagery and sound. Once visitors reach the site, the compelling imagery continues unabated, constantly moving and constantly growing. This energetic approach to web development is really a breath of fresh air and is immediately captivating to even those wholly unengaged with the product. A fantastic site.
