Every Monday, the StrategiQ Team make their picks as to their top 5 favourite websites of the week.
And the winners are…
1. TB Groupe
The winner of this week’s Web Top 5 is TB Groupe. This website is all about its products and it truly is as sharp as the knives on display. White space and minimal typography set the tone here, creating a stylish, clean façade. An incredible use of photography is also present throughout, showing off the quality of the objects on sale, presenting the modern utensils as art forms in themselves. We really like this site, which is this week, a worthy winner.
2. Dropbox Guide
In second place this week, is this wonderful guide from Dropbox. Keeping a 50/50 split layout throughout the site is a really quirky design tool on the part of Dropbox and a function that makes the site very easy to use and navigate. The working mechanic of the site and the content certainly present the illusion of being an actual instruction manual. This site is a strong contender.
3. Outdated Browser
This is a somewhat satirical choice as, we as web developers believe that everyone should be using the latest browser and keeping up to date. However, we are also fans of the simple, yet enjoyable and welcoming design and functionality of the site. It’s reactive animation is enjoyable and the colourful bold theme throughout makes this site a strong statement in terms of design.
4. Sheepeuh
Sheepeuh offers a colour spectrum wheel that users can control by playing with the sliders. Users can spend ages tweaking the sliders gradually to see what effect it has, with a truthfully hypnotic experience a realistic outcome. This site is a true time waster and the different colour harmonies are at times beautiful. The site serves little purpose except to lose oneself in the rainbow of psychedelic loveliness.
5. Banksy
If there was ever a website that really represented its artist well, it would be this one. The site shows the work which speaks loud and clear for itself. The minimal menu options and written content are heavily stripped back, nullifying any need for high design, elegance or opulence. This is a site that is honest and thought-provoking.
