2024 – what a year! With 12 rounds of incredible MVP nominations, or ‘lovely spreads’, 2024 was all about championing the outstanding work of our talented individuals and teams. But now, as we wrap up, it’s time to announce our final MVP of the year.
Every month, our MVP nominations give us the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions of our team. It’s our way of saying that you to those who go above and beyond, with a well-earned duvet day and dinner on us.
But, before we reveal our December MVP, let’s take a moment to celebrate some of the nominations. Kicking us off is our Senior Web Developer, Benny Brown:
“Benny hasn’t been in the team long but has already shown his ingenuity, expertise and enthusiasm to take on any challenge and put in the extra effort to solve a problem. I know when I’m handing work over to Benny that I just have to give a clear instruction once and he’ll handle the rest and anything that’s come up. Very impressed!”
Next up, our CEO and ‘driving force’, Andy Smith:
“I’ve learned more about leadership from Andy in the past 6 months than I had in the 6 years prior to joining StrategiQ. His relentless and ambitious energy is the driving force behind everything we do and that has been on full display in December. Juggling alignment meetings and recruitment has made for an incredibly jam packed end to the year – and he hasn’t missed a step. Incredible. Thanks for your hard work and inspirational leadership. It isn’t taken for granted, mate.”
And our PR superstar and resident Christmas DJ, James Roach:
“Working with James R and seeing him in action is amazing to see. He pulled together some amazing Digital PR concepts and the client was super excited by the concepts that James presented, he also worked tirelessly in putting together content and PR slides for a proposal that was delivered amazingly. Let’s not forget he also helped put together the Christmas playlist. Keep on smashing it James.”
But, claiming the final MVP of 2024 was our Head of Finance, Kirsty Fitzgerald:
“This month, I have to give my vote to Kirsty, I can’t imagine how many spreadsheets, train ticket quotes, tax conversations this woman has had in December, and still is there to answer the phone and help with all my finance questions, invoicing and have a chat. Thank you Kirsty, Vicky and Sarah for putting so much time and energy into organising travel costs.”
“My vote goes to Kirsty. It’s easy to overlook finance in the background but this effort must have been (and still must be) huge.”
“So many people to name but this month has to go to our very own Kirsty. I can’t begin to imagine the shear amount of work that has gone into getting everything in order for us. The multiple P&L’s created, travel scenarios and overall costs, Kirsty has gone above and beyond to get the numbers and projections needed. Well done Kirsty!”
“Two words – “Greater Anglia”! Well done to Kirsty, Sarah and Vicki who have worked so hard in recent weeks to work out all of the various details and logistics involved with recent projects. It’s taken a real shift and lots of care attention and dedication. Kirsty has pipped it for me this month!”
“For being so loyal and committed and always giving a shit.”
Above and beyond doesn’t even scratch the surface of the incredible work, time and effort Kirsty put into December, not only to her job, but helping everyone else with the logistics of theirs. Thank you for all your hard work Kirsty – you really do deserve a day off and dinner on us!
