Undertaking a BSc Business degree at the University of Bath, Emily Morgan has joined us as an enthusiastic and determined Client Services Intern.

So, Emily, tell us a little bit about your background
I am originally from Saffron Walden, but I’m currently in my second year of a BSc Business Degree at the University of Bath. With a creative mindset and budding interest in marketing, I reached out to StrategiQ as my course includes two 6-month industrial placements.
I was thrilled to be accepted, as this opportunity allows me to apply my academic knowledge in a real-world setting. I am excited to learn from each and every one of the team and contribute to the amazing work that’s happening within the agency.
What’s been your top career highlight so far?
After the hard work I put into my A Levels, getting into my first choice university course was incredibly rewarding. However, during the pandemic, I wanted to try something new. With my love for art – I set up my own small-scale business, taking commissions for pet portraits – I guess it was my first proper exposure to working life!
What made you want to come to StrategiQ?
I really wanted exposure to marketing and agency life. With a family friend working for Cambridge Audio – a client of StrategiQ’s; I connected with Andy to see whether the placement would be viable. Progressing into something more, Account Managers; Bex and Emma shared great insight into the importance of client services and their passion for their role had me hooked!
What part of your role are you most passionate about?
Having the opportunity to directly engage with our amazing clients, understand their unique needs and help provide tailored solutions. Seeing the positive impact of my assistance on their business and learning about the world of marketing excites me the most about my role in Client Services.
What’s something you’d say you’re exceptionally good at?
100% gift giving. I love to listen and take in the little details supplied by friends and family members to give them special and sentimental presents. All I can say is, let’s hope you get me for your Secret Santa!
What’s the best part of working agency-side for you?
StrategiQ’s core focus on leading with strategy links directly with my degree – It’s great to understand why a client needs certain things. In addition, being part of a full-service digital agency, that is industry-agnostic, will give me great insight into a variety of clients.
With great focus on the learning and development opportunities during my time here, I have been exposed to such a broad range of knowledge across various disciplines – from learning day-to-day tasks, useful tools and sharing insider knowledge; I am surrounded by a really high level of expertise that’s incredible to have at this point in my career.
Moving away from all the business talk – tell us what a perfect day off would look like to you!
Outside of work, I am very sociable – whether it’s brunch with family and friends, the gym or a bit of retail therapy at close-by Freeport – I just love making the most of having a break from uni work and being out and about.
I also love traveling, so any opportunity to plan my next getaway is perfect for me!
