May’s MVP goes to Ms Calm and Collected

6 min read by Amy Peckham-Driver 6 Jun 2023

As we say goodbye to the month of May, we say hello to the latest MVP to be added to the list of 2023 winners.

As always, we had an amazing spread of nominations, with members of the StrategiQ team being recognised among all service lines and levels.

A whopping 27 team members received nominations this month, really demonstrating the impact they’re having on their colleagues and across the business. There’s no set criteria for our MVP award, and anyone can be nominated for anything they’ve done at work; whether it’s going above and beyond on a project, coming up with a show-stopping idea, or simply showing kindness and support towards their fellow colleagues.

Everybody’s favourite time of the month

Nothing lifts our spirits like hearing the team receive the praise and recognition they deserve; especially when it comes from those they’re working alongside.

Life in a marketing agency moves fast, and the MVP award offers us the opportunity to slow down for a minute and think about how impactful the work of each individual is – there’s no such thing as a background role here!

Without further ado, let’s take a look at our top three for May.

Let’s hear it for the girls

In third place was our fabulous Client Partner, Becky Evison:

“Bex has had a fantastic month once again, this girl is unstoppable. From prepping and leading face-to-face client meetings and supporting questions from all of her other clients, while helping to grow strategies across the various marketing channels, she is Wonder Woman!”

Taking second place was our Project Manager extraordinaire, Grace Randall:

“I have been very impressed with Grace from the day she arrived, she has brought her own skills and style to project management which has been really refreshing. I have found her incredibly adaptable, eager to learn, not afraid of f**king up and happy to take feedback, however, this month she has taken it to a whole new level. Managing her first project has come with some challenges and lots of learning but she has taken everything that has happened with a smile on her face and a lesson noted down in her PM training book. You should be very proud of how far you have come in such a short time, I know I am really proud of you. Keep it up Grace, you are a machine!”

And lastly, the one taking home the crown (as well as a duvet day and a night out on the company card) is… Jude Jarvis!

Having joined us as a Strategy Director earlier this year, Jude has made an incredible impact in an impressively short amount of time. Known for being ‘calm’, ‘collected’ and StrategiQ’s ‘voice of reason’, Jude has breathed new life into the strategy team, winning the hearts of clients and colleagues alike:

“Being an agency that ‘puts strategy at the heart of everything we do’ is a big claim, but no one lives by this ethos more than Jude. Calm, collected and deliberate; Jude’s work in re-aligning strategy’s role in the agency and developing a new roadmap to help us deliver better work and win more clients is motivating the whole agency to think more strategically. Her pragmatic mindset and voice of reason are already having a significant impact on countless clients. Though a strategist’s direct impact might not always be seen, it’s most certainly felt – and appreciated – by everyone that works with Jude.”

“Jude is brilliant, her strategic mind and ability to think on the spot or be a sounding board for my client strategies is astounding. Jude is a breath of fresh air and her presentation about the strategy team invigorated my excitement about client strategies and how we focus on moving the needle for clients instead of being dictated by tactics. I’m really excited to see how Jude moves the strategy team forward.”

A huge congratulations to Jude on a very well-earned win!
