StrategiQ recently named Ipswich charity Iceni, our charity of the year for 2020 – so we thought we ought to find some ways to raise some money for this amazing group of individuals who help families across Suffolk every single day.
We could do it the conventional way… perhaps a bake sale, or dressing up, but nope, since it’s us, we decided to spend 14 hours hiking in early springtime Yorkshire instead! – Please donate to our challenge here!
But first, let’s tell you about Iceni…
Iceni is a wonderful charity that supports families and children that are affected by drug abuse, domestic abuse, poverty and mental health and the issues that may arise from being in these situations.
Our involvement with Iceni began when they approached us to help them to build a new website, with the intent of expanding the pool of investors and donations made to the charity, to allow for more frequent and widespread work.
After completing the project and working closely with Iceni to discover more and more about them during the process, we decide that they deserved a little more than just a new website, and nominated them to be our charity of the year, meaning that when we do any kind of event, we’re able to raise money to help those who really need it.
“I believe there is nothing better than local businesses getting directly involved with a charitable group. It is the essence of society, people coming together to help other people in their own communities. With this in mind, Iceni are delighted to be StrategiQ’s designated charity partner of the Year. This partnership is an excellent way to promote both partners sense of community responsibility. Funds raised throughout the year will be hugely beneficial to Iceni and the families we support.
We particularly value support from local businesses such as StrategiQ as this gives us confidence that people do care about improving the lives and communities in which they live and work. We very much look forward to continuing to work with staff at StrategiQ over the coming year, their support is truly appreciated by everyone here at Iceni.”

- Pen-y-ghent Height: 694 m; 2,227 ft
- Whernside Height: 736 m; 2415 ft
- Ingleborough Height: 723 m; 2,372 ft

Our pledge
We’ve pledged to raise a minimum of £500 for Iceni, with this challenge.
The adventure starts for us at around 2:30am on Saturday 28th March, where we leave the office to set about actually getting to the peaks, where we’ll arrive to do the full walk. Along the way, we’ll walk a total of around 26 miles, taking, where we’ll finish at around 10pm for a rewarding swift pint to celebrate and then sleep all the way back to the office in the minibus!
We’re all really excited to be undertaking such a challenge (especially since some of us might actually be allergic to exercise) and we’d be super grateful if you can support us and donate towards the cause by following the link to our JustGiving page – Donate Here
Thank you and do wish us luck!
