Their exclusive Gifts & Experiences store enables clients to gift stays and services or take a piece of their experience home through purchasing high-end merchandise and memorabilia.
StrategiQ has been working with the Dorchester Collection since 2017 when we were originally brought in to redevelop their ecommerce store to resolve a number of technical and usability issues, improving the user experience, its appearance and profitability.
The Magento Enterprise solution in place was expensive to run and difficult to operate for both customers and colleagues. By conducting an audit and partnering with their team we were able to define the functionality required and issues to be resolved.
Our obsession with the customer experience informed our approach, which included streamlining the gift card redemption process and enabling store views and currencies for each of their hotels. By building an interactive prototype we were able to demonstrate and refine improvements before committing to design and build. Our expertise enabled us to migrate their inventory to a redesigned Magento Open Source solution and even achieve an improvement in search engine visibility, rather than the loss that commonly occurs in a standard site transition.
As their ecommerce tech partner, we’ve worked across graphic design, customer experience and conversion optimisation, to improve the sales growth of the platform. Seven years on, we’re moving towards the start-line of a brand new era with the third generation of their website.
