Vine House Farm sells high-quality bird food, bird feeders and bird care accessories through its website, with proceeds from every sale going to The Wildlife Trust. We have worked with the company since 2017, providing a range of services from web development to technical SEO.
Having reached an impasse with the agency developing its new website, Vine House Farm approached us to help bring the site to fruition. Rather than simply picking up where the previous agency left off, we went back to basics and completed a thorough technical audit of the work to date.
The result of this audit suggested a change of approach was needed, so we agreed it would be best for us to start again from an SEO perspective, while working with some of the existing design guidelines
Nailing down a robust tech spec was critical as the new website would rely heavily on third-party integrations and hosting, while adhering to the technical, legislative and compliance requirements of the chosen payment gateway and the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).
Within six months, we had developed and delivered a complete e-commerce platform to our exacting technical standards. The site’s performance speaks for itself, with conversion rates hitting 18.7% within a year of launch, representing a year-on-year increase of 79%. Now two years on from launch, organic traffic to the site is up by 110% YOY.
