Overview / Brief

Ensors is an award-winning regional accountancy firm providing a comprehensive range of specialist services across a variety of industries and sectors, supporting both individuals and large corporations alike.

With over 130 years of history behind them, it’s safe to say there’s no shortage of experience for these chartered accountants, which is why they’re renowned for their technical excellence, proactive advice and truly human touch.

Ensors came to StrategiQ wanting to grow their digital presence and create an online experience that would represent the quality of their services but also the personable, approachable nature of their team. With a focus on brand and visual identity, Ensors needed a new website which modernised the company’s image and kept its people and customers at the forefront.

Our strategy was therefore centred around creating an engaging and impactful brand identity and a website which would stand out against competitors; comprising best practice SEO, content, design and development.

The visual element

Visually, we wanted to focus on bringing the team into the brand as much as possible; keeping the imagery professional but steering away from the clinical, corporate feel that often comes across in the finance and accountancy world. The plan was to avoid stock images and use team photography throughout the site and really capture ‘the people behind the numbers’ – a notion which the entire rebrand was subsequently built upon.
Our photographers orchestrated an enormous shoot – covering three locations and almost 500 people – to create a bank of refreshed imagery to use across case studies and different sections of the site.

As part of the brand evolution, we also looked at their logo – which had been unchanged for a long time – and updated the design, offering three different versions for the team to choose from. With new photography and videography, and a new website, tagline, logo and font, we paired the site launch with a refreshed tone of voice document to ensure complete consistency across all channels and communications; keeping their people at the heart of it all.

Website updates

In order to further demonstrate the value of Ensors’ services, we also refreshed and repositioned the format of the case studies on their website. We found that the existing case studies didn’t highlight the impact or, more importantly, the results Ensors were achieving for their clients, and didn’t demonstrate why any prospective clients should actually come to Ensors.

We ultimately ended up removing most of the case studies on their site and suggested that instead, we focused on two or three of their most compelling examples; setting up interviews and photoshoots with the selected clients and re-telling the story in a way which showcased the tangible difference Ensors had made.

In terms of website functionality, the original site had a portal which was integral to the site and which the Ensors team needed to maintain access to for the sake of their own internal processes. It needed to be editable in the event of new content needing to be added, legal changes needing to be made, or people leaving the company. We were able to ensure that the team could still independently make changes and add content to the site through a third-party link which then redirects to an external area.

The outcome

Between the new brand positioning, the refreshed visual identity, and the updated website, Ensors have set themselves apart as accountants with soul; elevating themselves within the marketplace and keeping first-class customer service at the heart of it all.
