There’s yet another new face being welcomed into StrategiQ with open arms, this time we’re saying hey to Marketing Director Rebecca Childs!

*Applause*

Shall we find out a bit more about our latest hire?

Rebecca started her career as a brand planner for advertising agencies, working on strategies for Mr Muscle, Nivea, Motorola, Heal’s, Toby Carvery, Bulmers and Mooncup to name a few of the cool brands she’s been involved with.

After a great start in the industry, Rebecca then moved client-side at Camelot, where she managed integrated campaigns for Lotto before accepting an offer from Wickes to go and run their advertising team! While working with Wickes, Rebecca learned a huge amount of hints and tips for DIYers (which has come in handy, we’ll find out) and with this experience moved into proposition development for the Kitchens and Bathrooms department, getting under the skin of what customers want from their supplier and helping shape Wickes’s offering to better serve them.

As you can tell, Rebecca is super passionate about brands and their role in the world – “to create value and meaning people can buy into and be a point of consistency and a simple decision in a world that feels more complicated than ever.” That’s rather poetic!

What does Rebecca do outside of being awesome at building brands?

Rebecca has a Fashion degree, so she loves nothing more than enjoying something that’s beautifully designed. She loves to get involved in the fashion resale and rental market and is always invested in the opportunity it presents to brands. Rebecca is also single-handedly combatting fast fashion and helping to save the planet with her collection of jumpsuits that not only make an easy outfit choice, but also give her partner some enjoyment by telling her she looks like a variety of characters such as a Builder, Toddler, Pilot or Children’s TV presenter. All fashion inspiration icons in my opinion.

Aside from her fashion not-at-all-faux-pas, Rebecca is also a trained florist and (warning – namedrop) has even delivered flowers to the likes of Gok Wan and Gwyneth Paltrow! While she’s no longer a flower frequenter, Rebecca can often be caught prettying up a bouquet at home or helping out family and friends on occasions.

Fun fact on the topic of flowers: Rebecca has a 100% success rate in catching bouquets at weddings. That’s quite impressive!

When she’s not looking fancy arranging flowers, Rebecca spends the rest of her spare time being the “fight-breaker-upper, car seat-buckler and bringer-of-endless-snacks” of her three young boys and continuing the ongoing DIY renovation of her home (we’ve come full circle), as well as taking care of her three resident chickens that came with the house.

Why did she choose StrategiQ?

“StrategiQ have been on my radar since I relocated to Suffolk 4 years ago. In fact, Andy was one of the very first networking conversations I had. We kept in touch and finally after 4 years our timings lined up. I’ve always been impressed by StrategiQ’s momentum and confidence as an agency as well as the value they place on culture and development. The agency is at a pivotal point in its growth trajectory; the opportunity to create change and shape where StrategiQ goes next was too appealing to pass up.”

We’re excited to have you on board Rebecca, welcome to the team!
