The people behind the numbers
Ensors is an award-winning accountancy firm providing a comprehensive range of specialist services across a variety of industries and sectors, supporting both individuals and large corporations alike. With over 130 years of history behind them, it’s safe to say there’s no shortage of experience, which is why they’re renowned for their technical excellence, proactive advice and human touch.
Problem
Ensors came to StrategiQ wanting to elevate their brand identity and grow their digital presence, creating an online experience that would emulate the quality of their services and the personable, approachable nature of their team. Ensors needed a new website which modernised the company’s image and kept its people and customers at the forefront. This programme of work was then followed by a data transformation project that would enable them to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time, and a strategy consultancy piece of work to determine the direction.
Solution
Brand and Tech
Our strategy centred around evolving their brand, developing an engaging and impactful identity and website which would stand out against competitors; comprising best practice SEO, content, design and development.
This started with a full review and articulation of their brand foundations, from their vision and mission, through to their core messaging; understanding their core audiences and shaping a narrative that would resonate.
Visually, it was important to showcase the people at the heart of the brand; both the Ensors team and the real people that they serve – keeping the imagery professional but steering away from the clinical, corporate feel that often comes across in the finance and accountancy world. The plan was to avoid stock images and use authentic photography throughout the site, capturing ‘the people behind the numbers’ – a notion which the entire rebrand was subsequently built upon.
Our photographers orchestrated a large shoot – covering three locations and almost 500 people – to create a bank of refreshed imagery to use across case studies and different sections of the site.
As part of the brand evolution, we also looked at their logo, which had been unchanged for a long time. We created concepts, offering the team three different versions to choose from. With new photography and videography, and a new website, tagline, logo and font, Ensors were ready to present their fresh new face to the world! To ensure that there was consistency across all channels and communications we paired the site launch with a refreshed tone of voice document that kept their people at the heart of it all.

There are a number of chartered accountancy firms in the East Anglian region in which Ensors practice including: Lovewell Blake, Scrutton Bland, Armstrongs, Whitings LLP and Larking Gowen. Few, if any, have the legacy of experience and vast portfolio of clients that Ensors boast.

Marketing Consultancy
Since then, we’ve provided consultancy to the Ensors team, including:
- Auditing, writing and presenting their marketing strategy to highlight the digital opportunities outside of the business-as-usual activity, helping to shift the perception of the marketing team from an ‘events planning department’ to an ‘engine that drives growth’.
- A project to optimise discoverability and boost visibility of the recovering insolvency service line available at their newest Norwich branch. This included an SEO audit which informed page enhancements and research to create a related glossary.
- A paid media workshop to empower their team to deliver the function in-house to complement the actions informed by the SEO audit
Data Transformation
We recommended that Ensors start sending personalised communications to their existing database to nurture and reengage prospects and clients. We needed to resolve the manual handling of data and to do so, implemented HubSpot as a marketing CRM, building a middleware solution that talks directly to their finance-focused CRM system, CCH. As the protection of clients’ financial data is paramount, it was also critical that this API was appropriately secured and rigorously tested to ensure compliance.
This project is currently underway, but deliverables include:
- Setting up HubSpot CRM
- Designing email templates and building these in the platform to enable flexibility of design application and ease of use
- Mapping emails that should sit within the Welcome Series, Event Series and Re-Engagement series, then producing content briefs following email best practice
- Building both the emails and automated flows using signed off templates
- Mapping and building lead scoring to optimise efficiency of follow-up
- Training session to help the Ensors team use HubSpot
